What Excites You?
Before we dive into the world of 3D design, I want to ask you something. What excites you? What drives you to be here, ready to dedicate your time and energy to learning how to design?
For me, knowing my "why" is essential before I start anything new. Maybe it’s a personal quirk, but if I don’t have a clear reason, I just can’t move forward. I’ve trained my mind to think like machines—and machines, without a purpose, have no reason to exist.
Find Your "Why"
Look deep within yourself. What motivates you?
- Is it the process of designing?
- Is it the satisfaction of holding something you created in your hands?
- Is it the joy of gifting something you’ve made?
- Or perhaps it’s the desire to teach others what you’ve learned?
Whatever it is, that’s your fuel. Your reason. It’s what will keep you excited even when things get tough.
Why I Design
To give you an example, I want to share why I love 3D design.
The Satisfaction of Designing
There are times when I design something just for the joy of it. When I get stuck on a difficult project, I open a new tab, come up with a simple idea, and finish a small design. Printing it and completing it gives me the confidence to go back to my bigger project and tackle it with fresh energy.
The Satisfaction of Completing a Goal
I often set extremely challenging goals for myself. I don’t always know how I’ll achieve them, but that’s the exciting part. I start with an idea, a rough sketch, and as I progress, the project begins to take shape. The moment I hold in my hands something that once only existed in my imagination, the feeling of satisfaction is indescribable.
Design as a Tool for Growth
3D design is not just about creativity; it’s also a tool for life. Designing products to sell or solving real-world problems helps you build skills that make you indispensable. In a world where AI is taking over many tasks, those of us with imagination and creativity will always have a place. The ability to turn your ideas into tangible products is an incredible advantage.
Design as a Form of Expression
The world around us is full of inspiration. Every shape, every pattern in nature can be the foundation for something new. You start to see the world as a canvas, and design becomes a way to express yourself.
Design for Problem-Solving
When you learn to design, every problem becomes a challenge. A broken item at home, a stand for your phone, or even a complex mechanical part—all become opportunities to test your skills. 3D design teaches you to see the world differently, to turn problems into solutions.
The Next Step
Before we move forward, I want you to think: what is it that makes you want to learn 3D design? Hold onto that answer—it will be your motivation at every step of our journey.
