🎯 Calibration

🎯 Calibration

Calibration is a crucial step if we want to print with precision.

👉 To ensure that our printer produces accurate dimensions, we should first print a small test cube (10x10x10 mm) before printing any important part.

🔹 Calibration Process

1️⃣ Print a 10x10x10 mm cube.
2️⃣ Measure its actual dimensions using a caliper.
3️⃣ If the dimensions are incorrect, adjust the settings:

  • Modify the scale in the slicer.
  • Fine-tune the printer settings if needed.
4️⃣ Repeat the test until you get the correct dimensions!

🔹 When Should You Calibrate?

For large parts that must be highly precise.
For parts that need to fit with others, but you don’t have the other parts available for testing.
Whenever you want to ensure your printer is printing accurately.

📌 If you have the matching parts available, the best approach is to print a test piece and check the fit. If not, use the calibration cube!

📏 Why a Caliper is Essential

📌 To calibrate properly, you must use a caliper.

🔹 A caliper gives you precise measurements of your print, allowing you to adjust for any discrepancies.
🔹 You need to learn how to read it correctly to get accurate results.

👉 A good digital caliper costs around €35.
🚨 Don’t be cheap with your caliper, or your prints will be cheap too! 😆

🎯 Final Thoughts

Calibration is essential for high-precision prints.
Use a test cube to check if your printer is dimensionally accurate.
If working with fitting parts, always test before the final print.
Invest in a good digital caliper—it will save you from failed prints!

🚀 Now we're ready to achieve perfectly accurate prints! 🖨️📏
