🔍 Print Preparation & Preview
Now that we’ve completed all the settings, we’re ready to move on to slicing!
👉 The slicer will prepare the model, and then we’ll examine how it’s structured internally, meaning how the printer will build the object layer by layer.
🔹 Slice Button
📌 Where to find it:
✅ At the top menu bar, go all the way to the right and select "Slice Plate".
✅ Wait for the process to complete.
📌 What happens next:
✅ Once slicing is done, the "Preview" tab will open automatically.
✅ Here, you can see the model’s internal structure, along with supports and any extra elements added by the slicer.
📊 Print Details Window
🔹 This is one of the most important windows in the slicer!
📌 Located at the top right, it provides key printing information:
✅ Estimated print time ⏳
✅ Material usage 🎨
✅ Important statistics for print cost estimation 💰
🎛 Navigation Bars & G-Code Analysis
🔹 There are two main navigation bars for the print preview:
📍 Vertical bar (right side):
✅ Adjusts the print height 📏
✅ Lets you view individual layers and see how the object is built
📍 Horizontal bar (bottom):
✅ Moves through the print process step by step
✅ Displays the G-Code preview, showing the actual instructions sent to the printer
🎥 Workshops & Hands-On Learning
🔹 The best way to understand slicing and previewing is to see it in action!
✅ In each workshop, we analyze why we choose specific settings and how they affect the final print.
✅ By following the workshops, you’ll understand the logic behind slicing and preview adjustments!
🎯 Final Thoughts
✅ Slicing is the final critical step before printing – double-check everything!
✅ Use the preview mode to ensure your model, supports, and layers are correctly set up.
✅ If you have questions, the workshops will help you fully understand the process!
🚀 Now we’re ready to send the file to the printer and start printing! 🖨️🔥
