🎨 Multicolor Printing Without AMS
Unfortunately, when we don’t have AMS, our options for multicolor printing are very limited.
✅ We can only change one color at a time
✅ The color change can only happen between different layers
👉 This means we cannot print multiple colors on the same layer, unlike with AMS.
🔹 Manual Color Change Process
1️⃣ Prepare the file as usual, just like a regular print.
2️⃣ Go to the Preview tab.
3️⃣ On the right panel, scroll down to the layer where you want to change the color.
4️⃣ Right-click on the cross icon ➝ Select "Pause".
- This creates a pause point in the print.
5️⃣ During printing, the machine will stop at that point and wait for your input.
6️⃣ Go to the printer, manually change the filament to the new color.
7️⃣ Press "Continue," and the printer will resume printing with the new color.
⚠️ Limitations & Risks of This Method
📌 This method has serious drawbacks:
❌ You must be next to the printer to manually change the filament.
❌ If something goes wrong during the color change (e.g., the printer cools down or jams), the print may fail.
❌ You cannot change colors within the same layer, which greatly limits design possibilities.
🚀 When Should You Use Manual Color Change?
📌 This method is only useful for:
✔️ Small production runs where you want to add a simple color effect.
✔️ Specific cases, such as changing the color of text or logos on a sign.
👉 For anything more complex, the best solution is using a printer with AMS, so you can change colors easily and automatically! 🎨🖨️
