Slicer Manual : Bambu Studio : Import File ( What will we print )

📥 Importing a File into the Slicer

📥 Importing a File into the Slicer

After selecting our file, the next step is to import it into the slicer software.

Go to the top toolbar and select "Import File".
✅ Then, choose the file you want to print.

📌 At this stage, the slicer may display three different messages. So far, I have identified three cases – if you come across any others, let me know so I can add them!

🔹 1️⃣ Multipart Object Detected

🖥 What it means: The slicer recognizes that the file contains multiple parts.

Options:
Yes – Imports the model as a single assembly, keeping all components in their correct positions.
No – Imports the parts separately, allowing for independent placement.

⚠️ Warning! If you select "No", the parts may move from their correct positions, potentially ruining the model.

🔹 2️⃣ Object Too Small

🖥 What it means: The object is too small, and the printer may not be able to print it correctly.

Options:
Yes – The slicer will scale the object up by x10 to make it printable.
No – The object will be imported as is, without any size adjustments.

⚠️ Important! If the file comes from Blender, it is likely in the wrong scale and needs to be resized. On the other hand, files from Fusion 360 or other CAD programs typically do not have this issue.

🔹 3️⃣ Drop Project File

🖥 What it means: There are already other objects in the workspace, and the slicer is asking how you want to import the new file.

Options:
New Project – Closes all previous files and creates a new project.
Merge with Existing ProjectAdds the new file to the current project, keeping all existing settings.

💡 What should I choose?
🔹 If the new file is part of the same project, choose Merge.
🔹 If you want to start a completely new print, select New Project.

🎯 Final Thoughts

Depending on the message that appears, you need to make the right decision to ensure the object is imported correctly and ready for printing! 🖨️🚀
