⚠️ Common Mistakes & How to Fix Them
When using a slicer, there are several common mistakes that can occur. Below, we've categorized them into simple troubleshooting steps.
❌ 1️⃣ Wrong Printer Selection – Printer Not Showing Up
👉 Problem:
You selected your printer, went to the Device tab, but it doesn’t appear.
✅ Solution:
🔹 Check if you have selected the correct printer from the printer selection menu.
🔹 Make sure your account is logged in to the slicer.
🔹 Ensure your computer is connected to the internet.
🔹 Verify that the printer is online (connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
🔹 Confirm that your printer is linked to your account.
👉 Only when all these conditions are met will your printer appear correctly!
❌ 2️⃣ Filament Not Showing Up
👉 Problem:
Your filament is not appearing in the slicer’s material list.
✅ Solution:
🔹 Not all filaments are preloaded in the slicer—go to the filament settings on the right panel and check the material list.
🔹 If you can’t find your specific filament, select Generic and adjust the settings manually.
🔹 Perform filament calibration using two key tests:
- Retraction Test → Checks for stringing issues.
- Temperature Tower → Prints a small tower to determine the ideal print temperature for your filament.
❌ 3️⃣ The Software Gives Errors
👉 Problem:
You’re getting slicer errors that you don’t understand.
✅ Solution:
📌 In this case, send me the error message and the file you’re using:
🔹 If it’s a simple issue, I’ll provide a quick solution.
🔹 If it’s more complex, we can go over it in a one-on-one session.
